THE 33RD ANNUAL GREAT TRI-STATE RAIL SALE

THE 33RD ANNUAL GREAT TRI-STATE RAIL SALE

The 4000 Foundation, Limited proudly announces plans for The 33rd Annual Great Tri-State Rail Sale to be held Saturday, January 25th, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The La Crosse Center, Second & Pearl Streets, downtown La Crosse. Since 1992, the Great Tri-State Rail Sale has grown to become the Tri-State’s largest one-day Railroad Hobby Sale, Model Railroad Flea Market & Swap Meet. This 33rd annual railroad extravaganza celebrates the area’s railroad heritage while raising funds to maintain and restore The La Crosse Short Line Railroad Heritage Museum in Copeland Park.

The Rail Sale traditionally hosts vendors from six states offering 300 tables of railroad related merchandise. Rail Sale patrons will have the opportunity to buy, sell, and trade an outstanding selection of model, toy and antique trains, books, magazine, railroad memorability, railroad art, hobby supplies, repairs and replacement parts and accessories, and many more related items.

Admission is just $8.00. Children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult.

All proceeds from this event are used to maintain and restore The La Crosse Short Line Railroad Heritage Museum. The 4000 Foundation is a non-profit organization formed in 1998.

Post Photo for Burning Bright Winter Solstice Concert 2025

Burning Bright Winter Solstice Concert 2025

It is the 27th Annual Burning Bright Winter Solstice Concert! It’s gonna be a good one.
Burning Bright is a concert with two performances, 4pm & 7pm, at the United Methodist Church. It features a choir, a unique bunch of local instrumentalists, a children’s choir for a one-of-a-kind concert to celebrate the solstice – full of choir and small-group performances of obscure carols and fine folk songs. As well as the incredible Wall of Fiddles!
All proceeds from this year’s concert will benefit these groups;
  • The Farmers Land Investment Cooperative (FLIC) holds a vision for
    a community that invests in farmland so that it produces good food,
    builds ecological diversity and resilience, and welcomes new farmers
    into stable livelihoods. This new cooperative is accepting member-
    investors and raising money for its first farmland purchase!
  • The Decorah Food Pantry’s “Local Food Fund”.
    The Pantry uses the money to buy food directly from local farmers for
    our clients and to give them coupons to use at the Farmer’s Market.
    So it’s a great thing to support if you care about addressing hunger,
    helping neighbors, supporting local agriculture, and strengthening the
    local economy!
  • Neighbors Helping Neighbors in Decorah. The UCC (United Church
    of Christ) in Decorah administers this program which distributes
    starter food packages to new immigrants in the area.  With bulk
    packages of rice, beans, and MaSeCa  (a tortilla mix), a family has
    enough to get started as they learn to navigate the grocery and food
    sources available to them. After these initial gifts of food, most
    families are on their way to becoming more self- sufficient, having
    found housing, jobs, and other basic needs
I will attach a picture of the choir below.
The choir consists of;
Back row, left to right: Sarah McGee, Matt Spencer, Andrew Wood, Brennan Allsworth, Dale Kittleson, Tom Misseldine, Ezra Harmon-Wood

2nd to front: Sarah Frydenlund, Randi Berg, Jay Hawthorne, Elyse Hawthorne, Judy Kittleson, Amy Webber, Emily Young Johnson, Elsa Johnson
